Subway League top team -Haukar (10-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they beat sixth ranked Stjarnan (4-8) in Hafnarfjordur 89-71 . The game was mostly controlled by Haukar. Stjarnan managed to win third quarter 24-17 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Haukar looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by Belgian forward Lore Devos (185-1999, college: Colorado St., agency: LBM Management) who scored that evening 25 points and 8 rebounds and international guard Tinna Alexandersdottir (177-2003) supported her with 24 points. Even a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds by American forward Denia Davis-Stewart (185-1998, college: Merrimack) did not help to save the game for Stjarnan . International guard Dilja Larusdottir (172-2003) added 13 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Haukar have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-2 record. Stjarnan lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Hamar and Valur.
