Top rankedStjarnan (10-2) recorded its second loss in Reykjavik on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by tenth ranked Valur (5-7) 83-79 . It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Stjarnan. The hosts trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 41-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Valur forced 19 Stjarnan turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Kari Jonsson (192-1997, college: Drexel) who scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Irish-British forward Taiwo Badmus (200-1993, college: UVA Wise) chipped in 23 points. Five Valur players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Hilmar Henningsson (195-2000) who recorded 28 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and American-Puerto Rican guard Jase Febres (196-1999, college: Texas) added 15 points respectively. Defending champion moved-up to eighth place, which they share with IR and Alftanes. Stjarnan at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost.
