Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Reykjavik:KR (#2) and IR (#6). IR was crushed at home by 25 points 63-88 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The game was mostly controlled by KR. IR was better in fourth quarter 25-24 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. KR dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to IR 's 28. KR forced 20 IR turnovers and outrebounded them 50-25 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. KR players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by IR 's players. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Cheah Rael-Whitsitt (180-1998, college: Texas A&M) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Rebekka Steingrimsdottir (173-2008) accounted for 11 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side. Stefania Hansen (175-2004) came up with 16 points and Bulgarian guard Maria Kolyandrova (165-1997) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for IR in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. KR (9-1) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place behind leader Armann. IR lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost.
