Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Reykjavik:Valur (#4) and KR (#8). KR was defeated at home 89-96 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 32-24 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Valur looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Thorir Thorbjarnarson (198-1998, college: Nebraska) with a triple-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists and Croatian Vlatko Granic (206-1994, college: Loyola, IL) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points and 16 rebounds. Valur (10-8) have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains fourth position. Newly promoted KR dropped to the seventh place with ten games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams.
