Regular Season Round 17: Armann - Fjolnir 88-95

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Reykjavik:Fjolnir (#6) and Armann (#3). Armann was defeated at home 88-95 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The guests were already 15 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 28-20 Armann's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 95-88 at the end of the game. Canadian power forward Lewis Diankulu (201-1995, college: Queens, NC) nailed a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side and guard Birgir Halldorsson (178-2006) accounted for 22 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Arnaldur Grimsson (195-2002) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 19 rebounds and Danish guard Adama Darboe (190-1986) added 30 points (on 12-of-13 shooting from the field) respectively for Armann in the defeat. Five Fjolnir and four Armann players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Fjolnir maintains sixth place with 9-8 record. Armann at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. They share it with Sindri.
