There was a small surprise in Sauoarkrokur where eighth rankedHamar (6-11) edged 5th ranked Tindastoll (8-9) 96-94 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 96-94. Hamar made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American point guard Abby Beeman (163-2001, college: Marshall) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 15 assists for the winners and the former international forward Kristrun Olafsdottir (183-2004) chipped in 12 points and 14 rebounds. Hamar's coach Hakon Hjartarson used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American-Syrian guard Randi Brown (173-1996, college: New Orleans) responded with 36 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and Polish forward Edyta Falenczyk (180-1993) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Hamar maintains eighth place with 6-11 record. Tindastoll lost fifth consecutive game. Tindastoll at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifth position with nine games lost.
