Regular Season Round 18: Armann - KFG 105-107

There was a surprise result in Reykjavik where tenth ranked KFG (6-12) edged higher ranked Armann (12-6) 107-105 on Monday. The guests trailed by 16 points after three quarters before their 41-23 charge, which allowed them to win the game. KFG forced 21 Armann turnovers. Strangely Armann outrebounded KFG 48-34 including 34 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Guard Kristjan Ingolfsson (191-2005) scored 30 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and guard Jakob Leifsson (190-2008) chipped in 25 points, 7 assists and 4 steals during the contest. KFG's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was forward Arnaldur Grimsson (195-2002) with 31 points and 9 rebounds and Danish guard Adama Darboe (190-1986) produced a triple-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists. Four KFG and five Armann players scored in double figures. KFG moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Snaefell and KV. Loser Armann keeps the fourth position with six games lost. KFG will meet Snaefell (#8) in the next round. Armann will play against Selfoss (#11) and hope to secure a win.
