Regular Season Round 22: Armann - Thor AK 124-102

Very expected game when 6th ranked Thor (11-11) was smashed by second ranked Armann (15-7) in Reykjavik 124-102. The game was mostly controlled by Armann. Thor was better in second period 35-33. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Armann shot 60.3 percent from the field and made 25-of-30 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Armann outrebounded Thor 36-25 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Armann players were unselfish on offense dishing 41 assists. American forward Jaxson Baker (203, college: UNH) scored 28 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners and forward Arnaldur Grimsson (195-2002) chipped in 25 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Armann's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American forward Tim Dalger (201, college: St.Louis) responded with 42 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Pall Hjalmarsson (200-2003) scored 16 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Armann maintains second position with 15-7 record having just three points less than leader IA, which they share with Hamar. Thor lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 11 games lost.
