There was a surprise result whenSelfoss beat at home Snaefell 101-93 . The hosts were already 14 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 40-34 Snaefell's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 101-93 at the end of the game. Selfoss made 23-of-28 charity shots (82.1 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Snaefell turnovers. American guard Steven Lyles (193, college: Spring Hill) orchestrated the victory by scoring 30 points and 5 rebounds. Croatian point guard Kristijan Vladovic (187-1999) contributed with 20 points and 8 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners. Selfoss' coach Johannes Skarphedinsson allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Dutch guard Aytor Alberto (188-2000, college: Cairn) replied with 32 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and Spanish forward Juan Luis Navarro (198-1991) added 19 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Snaefell. Five Selfoss and four Snaefell players scored in double figures. Selfoss will play against KV in Reykjaik in the next round. Snaefell will play at home against Thor to get more than just one victory in their record.
