Regular Season Round 5: Snaefell - Sindri 78-89

The biggest surprise of round 5 was guestSindri 's (#5) road victory over Snaefell (#6) 89-78 on Friday evening. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back getting tie in the second period and winning the second half and won the game by 11 points. The best player for the winners was American swingman Myles McCrary (196-2000, college: TMU, agency: Sport Avenir) who scored 25 points and 7 rebounds. Hungarian-American power forward Jason Gigliotti (203-1999, college: UM-Dearborn) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds. McCrary is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Sindri players scored in double figures. Sindri's coach Nebojsa Knezevic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Spanish forward Juan Luis Navarro (198-1991) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Sindri maintains fifth place with 3-2 record. Snaefell at the other side keeps the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Skallagrimur and Selfoss.
