The most surprising game was a loss of top-rankedGrindavik (13-2) in Reykjavik on Friday night. Visitors were rolled over by sixth ranked KR (8-7) 93-71 . It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Grindavik. KR looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was a good game for the former international guard Thorir Thorbjarnarson (198-1998, college: Nebraska, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists. Latvian Linards Jaunzems (200-1995) contributed with 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American-French forward Jordan Semple (201-1992, college: Chico St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Danish forward Daniel Mortensen (204-1994, college: Barry) added 18 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Grindavik. Five KR and four Grindavik players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. KR have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 8-7 record. Grindavik at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost.
