Very important is a home loss of third rankedGrindavik (11-6) against fifth ranked Valur (11-6) on Wednesday night. Host Grindavik was crushed by Valur in Grindavik 89-66 . Valur players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Canadian-Italian forward Alyssa Cerino (186-1997) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and American guard ReShawna Stone (168-2000, college: Buffalo) accounted for 19 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Four Valur players scored in double figures. Valur's coach Jamil Abiad felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Abby Beeman (163-2001, college: Marshall) came up with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists and Danish power forward Emilie Hesseldal (185-1990, college: Colorado St.) added 8 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Grindavik in the defeat. Valur moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Grindavik.
