Very expected game when 9th rankedNjardvik (6-11) was defeated on the road by second ranked Stjarnan (12-5) 113-103 on Thursday. Stjarnan looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Njardvik 's players. Serbian swingman Luka Gasic (195-1998, agency: Octagon Europe) stepped up and scored 34 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field) for the winners and the former international point guard Aegir Steinarsson (185-1991, college: Newberry) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists. Guard Veigar Alexandersson (193-2001, college: Chowan) responded with 32 points and Croatian guard Sven Smajlagic (196-1990, agency: Dagger Basket) scored 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Stjarnan and five Njardvik players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Stjarnan . Defending champion maintains second place with 12-5 record having just three points less than leader Grindavik, which they share with Tindastoll. Loser Njardvik keeps the ninth position with 11 games lost.
