We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams whenStjarnan was crushed at home by Tindastoll 90-66 on Saturday. Tindastoll outrebounded Stjarnan 50-33 including 19 on the offensive glass. Tindastoll looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Maddie Sutton (180-1998, college: Tusculum, agency: Dagger Basket) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Spanish guard Marta Hermida (180-1997, college: Boise St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 assists. Five Tindastoll players scored in double figures. American power forward Ruth Sherrill (188-1994, college: Temple) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and international guard Dilja Larusdottir (172-2003) added 14 points and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Stjarnan's coach Olafur Sigurdsson gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Tindastoll will meet Keflavik on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Stjarnan will play against Armann in Reykjavik and hope to secure a win.
