Second Stage Round 2: KR - Grindavik 87-98

The most important game in the last round took place in Reykjavik between KR and Grindavik on Sunday night. KR was defeated by Grindavik at home 98-87. American point guard Abby Beeman (163-2001, college: Marshall) had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 14 rebounds, 9 assists and 6 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Danish power forward Emilie Hesseldal (185-1990, college: Colorado St.) chipped in 16 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Five Grindavik players scored in double figures. American guard Jiselle Thomas (175-1999, college: ETSU) responded with 33 points (!!!) and Ivorian guard Molly Kaiser (173-2002, college: NM State) scored 11 points and 9 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Grindavik is looking forward to face Valur in Reykjavik in the next round. KR will have a break next round.
