Very predictable result when third rankedMaccabi Tel-Aviv (10-2) won against on the road 12th ranked Kiryat Ata (3-9) 102-90 on Monday. M.Tel-Aviv made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Kiryat Ata turnovers. M.Tel-Aviv looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The winners were led by the former international power forward Roman Sorkin (209-1996, college: Oregon) who scored that evening 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocks and the former international Jake Cohen (210-1990, college: Davidson) supported him with 17 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Maccabi Tel-Aviv's coach Oded Kattash used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 31 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists by American Chris Smith (206-1999, college: UCLA) did not help to save the game for Kiryat Ata . His fellow American import guard Liam OReilly (188-1996, college: Gardner-Webb, agency: LHZ Sport Agency) added 18 points and 5 rebounds. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with H.Jerusalem. Loser Kiryat Ata keeps the twelfth position with nine games lost. They share it with E.Netanya. M.Tel-Aviv will meet H.Afula (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Kiryat Ata will play against H.Holon (#6) and hope to secure a win.
