Regular Season Round 16: H.Galil Elion - I.Ness Ziona 77-65

There was a minor upset in Kfar Blum where 9th ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (6-10) was defeated by eleventh ranked Galil Elion (6-10) 77-65 on Sunday. Naturalized Argentinian swingman Lucas Goldenberg (196-1993) fired 28 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Canadian guard Marcus Carr (188-1999, college: Texas) chipped in 14 points. American swingman Jake Van Tubbergen (201-1998, college: GVSU) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Darnell Edge (188-1997, college: FDU) added 13 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. H.Galil Elion moved-up to ninth place, which they share with H.Afula and I.Ness Ziona. I.Ness Ziona lost third consecutive game. H.Galil Elion will meet higher ranked Bnei Hertzeliya (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. I.Ness Ziona will play against H.Holon and hope to secure a win.
