There was a small surprise when ninth rankedGalil Elion (7-12) won against their close opponent H.Gilboa Galil (7-11) in Kfar Blum 76-69 on Sunday. H.Galil Elion outrebounded H.Gilboa Galil 35-23 including 21 on the defensive glass. H.Galil Elion looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Lennard Freeman (203-1995, college: NC State) notched 16 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import Rawle Alkins (197-1997, college: Arizona) supported him with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Galil Elion's coach Guni Israeli allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) by American forward Ben Moore (203-1995, college: SMU) did not help to save the game for H.Gilboa Galil . The former international point guard Niv Misgav (181-1995) added 13 points and 7 assists. Four H.Galil Elion and five H.Gilboa Galil players scored in double figures. Despite that victory H.Galil Elion went down to tenth position due to points difference. Newly promoted H.Gilboa Galil keeps the ninth place with 11 games lost.
