The game in Yavne was also quite interesting. Second rankedM.Rishon (18-7) played at the court of 8th ranked E.Yavne (13-12). M.Rishon defeated E.Yavne 94-81 on Friday. M.Rishon looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for American forward DJ Burns (201-2001, college: YSU, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Naturalized American forward Josh Freund (204-1997, college: Roanoke) helped adding 16 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Burns is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. The best for the losing side was naturalized American power forward Eli Abaev (203-1998, college: FGCU) with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and American power forward Thomas Gipson (201-1993, college: Kansas St.) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Five M.Rishon and four E.Yavne players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. M.Rishon have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain second place with 18-7 record having just three points less than leader M.Raanana. Newly promoted E.Yavne dropped to the seventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with M.Rehovot and H.Safed Galil.
