Regular Season Round 24: H.Jerusalem - H.Be'er Sheva 83-81

Ninth-rankedHapoel Beer Sheva (10-14) was very close to win a game against third ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (19-5). Hapoel Jerusalem managed to secure only two-point victory 83-81 . However their fans expected much easier game. H.Jerusalem made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Jared Harper (178-1997, college: Auburn) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 7 assists and the other American import center Austin Wiley (211-1999, college: Auburn) who added 14 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Hapoel Jerusalem's coach Yonatan Alon allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American guard Cody Demps (193-1993, college: Sacramento St.) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and the former international Spencer Weisz (193-1995, college: Princeton) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Four H.Jerusalem and five H.Be'er Sheva players scored in double figures. Hapoel Jerusalem have a solid three-game winning streak. H.Jerusalem maintains third position with 19-5 record having just two points less than leader H.Tel-Aviv. H.Be'er Sheva at the other side dropped to the eighth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with H.Gilboa Galil and H.Galil Elion. H.Jerusalem will play against H.Galil Elion (#8) in Kfar Blum in the next round where they are favorite. H.Be'er Sheva will play on the road against H.Afula and hopes to get back on the winning track.
