Very predictable result when Ashkelon (2-1) defeated on the road H.Safed Galil (0-3) 94-89 on Tuesday. Ashkelon made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was guard Omer Poleg (185-1999) who scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Oz Lavy (197-2003, agency: BIG) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Ashkelon players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Taz Sherman (194-1999, college: WVU) who recorded 28 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow the other American import import guard Tavis Smith (191-1999, college: Belm.Abbey) added 19 points respectively. Ashkelon will meet Ramat Hash. (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. H.Safed Galil will play against M.Haifa (#17) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
