Regular Season Round 5: H.Migdal - M.Rehovot 90-88

First defeat ofM.Rehovot (3-1) against fifth ranked H.Migdal (4-1) 90-88 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of M.Rehovot. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Strangely M.Rehovot outrebounded H.Migdal 47-35 including 32 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when H.Migdal made 9 blocks. 27 personal fouls committed by M.Rehovot helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Eidan Alber (192-2000) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Niv Lempert (194-2004) contributed with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Amit Menachem (184-2004) answered with a triple-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists and American forward Derrick Walker (206-1997, college: Nebraska, agency: Diamond Sports) added 13 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) in the effort for M.Rehovot. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. H.Migdal have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. M.Rehovot at the other side dropped to the sixth place with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Ashkelon.
