Everything went according to plan when fifth rankedM.Ashdod (4-1) outplayed at home bottom-ranked E.Shomron (0-5) 112-79 on Wednesday. M.Ashdod dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to E.Shomron 's 32. They outrebounded E.Shomron 43-29 including 33 on the defensive glass. M.Ashdod looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American point guard Robert Turner III (190-1993, college: Texas Tech) nailed 26 points and 9 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import power forward Dwight Wilson III (203-1998, college: Ohio) accounted for 17 points and 12 rebounds. Four M.Ashdod players scored in double figures. American swingman Vince Cole (198-1998, college: Coastal) came up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 assists (was perfect 14-for-14 from the free throw line !!!) and swingman Roi Behar (196-2005) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for E.Shomron in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. M.Ashdod keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser E.Shomron still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with M.Haifa.
