There was a minor upset when 4th rankedKiryat Ata (5-3) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (5-2) 88-84 . The winners were led by American point guard Jared Harper (178-1997, college: Auburn) who scored that evening 20 points and 9 assists and the other American import forward Justin Smith (201-1999, college: Arkansas) supported him with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Even 17 points and 8 rebounds by American forward Malik Hall (203-2000, college: Michigan St.) did not help to save the game for Kiryat Ata . Guard Tomer Asayag (192-1999) added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hapoel Jerusalem have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place, which they share with H.Holon. Kiryat Ata at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. H.Jerusalem will play against Bnei Hertzeliya (#7) in Hod Hasharon in the next round. Kiryat Ata will play on the road against M.Raanana and hopes to get back on the winning track.
