Not a big story in a game when 5th rankedHapoel Jerusalem (8-5) lost to second ranked Maccabi Tel-Aviv (12-1) in Tel Aviv 84-95 on Sunday. M.Tel-Aviv looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The former international power forward Roman Sorkin (209-1996, college: Oregon) nailed 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and Brazilian center Marcio Santos (204-2002) accounted for 15 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). American center Austin Wiley (211-1999, college: Auburn) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import point guard Jared Harper (178-1997, college: Auburn) added 17 points and 6 assists respectively for H.Jerusalem in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Maccabi Tel-Aviv have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. M.Tel-Aviv keeps a position of league leader, which they share with H.Tel-Aviv. Defending champion H.Jerusalem keeps the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with H.Holon. M.Tel-Aviv will meet H.Holon (#5) on the road in the next round. H.Jerusalem will play against Kiryat Ata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
