The most surprising game was the first loss ofM.Ramat Gan (16-1) on the court of ninth ranked M.Haifa on Monday night. Visitors were defeated by M.Haifa 80-71 . It ended at the same time the 16-game winning streak of M.Ramat Gan. M.Haifa looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Shyanne Sellers (188-2003, college: Maryland) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Her fellow American import guard Lasha Petree (183, college: Purdue, agency: DITR) contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four M.Haifa players scored in double figures. American guard Victoria Vivians (185-1994, college: MSU) answered with 35 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and Latvian forward Paula Strautmane (185-1997, college: Quinnipiac) added 4 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for M.Ramat Gan. M.Haifa maintains ninth place with 6-10 record. M.Ramat Gan at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. M.Haifa are looking forward to face higher ranked E.Ramla (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. M.Ramat Gan will play against H.Jerusalem and is hoping to win this game.
