Very expected game when 15th rankedM.Haifa (3-14) was edged on the road by seventh ranked M.Ashdod (10-7) 85-82 on Tuesday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. M.Ashdod outrebounded M.Haifa 48-35 including a 21-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. American power forward Dwight Wilson III (203-1998, college: Ohio) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points and 20 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import point guard Robert Turner III (190-1993, college: Texas Tech) accounted for 27 points and 9 rebounds. The former international point guard Naor Sharon (193-1995) came up with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and naturalized American swingman Sandy Cohen III (198-1995, college: Green Bay) added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for M.Haifa in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. M.Ashdod moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Ashkelon. Loser M.Haifa keeps the fifteenth position with 14 games lost.
