There was no surprise when 11th rankedM.Petah Tikva (7-11) was defeated at home by sixth ranked M.Ashdod (11-7) 93-78 on Friday. M.Ashdod looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Robert Turner III (190-1993, college: Texas Tech) who scored 32 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Guard Noam Yaacobi (186-2004) chipped in 12 points and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Polish guard Gal Gilinski (195-1995) who recorded a triple-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists and American Cody Riley (206-1997, college: UCLA) added 16 points respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. M.Petah Tikva's coach rotated eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. M.Ashdod moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Ashkelon. Loser M.Petah Tikva dropped to the tenth position with 11 games lost. They share it with H.Migdal.
