Twelfth-rankedM.Petah Tikva (8-13) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Ashkelon (14-7). Ashkelon managed to secure only three-point victory 82-79 . However their fans expected much easier game. Ashkelon players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Guard Ron Cohen (191-2002) nailed 24 points for the winning side and American Tyler Wideman (203-1995, college: Butler) accounted for 19 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. American Cody Riley (206-1997, college: UCLA) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and guard Noam Naor (187-2004) added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists respectively for M.Petah Tikva in the defeat. Four M.Petah Tikva players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Ashkelon . They maintain fifth place with 14-7 record. M.Petah Tikva at the other side dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. They share it with E.Yavne and H.Migdal.
