Everything went according to plan when fifth rankedHapoel Jerusalem (12-5) beat on the road 9th ranked Ramat Gan (6-12) 97-87 on Sunday. H.Jerusalem looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when H.Jerusalem made 9 blocks. The best player for the winners was American point guard Jared Harper (178-1997, college: Auburn) who scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. His fellow American import center Austin Wiley (211-1999, college: Auburn) chipped in 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Hapoel Jerusalem's coach Yonatan Alon allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international Adam Ariel (193-1994) produced 22 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and American point guard Ronaldo Segu (183-1999, college: Buffalo) added 17 points and 9 assists respectively for the hosts. Four H.Jerusalem and five M.Ramat Gan players scored in double figures. Hapoel Jerusalem have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains fifth place with 12-5 record. M.Ramat Gan lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost. H.Jerusalem will meet at home higher ranked Bnei Hertzeliya (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. M.Ramat Gan will play against E.Netanya (#13) and hope to secure a win.
