Regular Season Round 22: M.Rehovot - Ashkelon 85-68

There was no surprise when 5th rankedAshkelon (14-8) was defeated on the road by second ranked M.Rehovot (18-4) 85-68 on Tuesday. M.Rehovot dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Ashkelon 's 32. They outrebounded Ashkelon 41-27 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. M.Rehovot looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Guard Amit Menachem (184-2004) had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Daniel Sharon (198-2005) chipped in 11 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Five M.Rehovot players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Brandon Bowman (206-1984, college: Georgetown) responded with 14 points and his fellow American import guard Latrell Reid (190-2000, college: St.Peter's) scored 9 points and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. M.Rehovot have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 18-4 record having just three points less than leader H.Eilat. Loser Ashkelon keeps the fifth place with eight games lost.
