There was no surprise in Ma'ale Adumim where 15th rankedM.Ma'ale Adum. (6-19) was defeated by fifth ranked Ashkelon (16-9) 97-90 on Monday. Ashkelon looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Guard Omer Poleg (185-1999) stepped up and scored 28 points and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and American forward Brandon Bowman (206-1984, college: Georgetown) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Ashkelon's coach Dror Cohen used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side forward Itay Karabayov (198-1985) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Adi Cohen-Saban (178-1993) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ashkelon maintains fifth place with 16-9 record, which they share with M.Ashdod. Loser M.Ma'ale Adum. keeps the fifteenth position with 19 games lost.
