Important game to mention about took place in Kiryat Gat. Fourteenth rankedM.Kiryat Gat (7-18) saved a 3-point victory at home edging higher ranked Ashkelon (16-10) 85-82 on Friday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. M.Kiryat Gat dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Ashkelon 's 24. They outrebounded Ashkelon 46-35 including 31 on the defensive glass. M.Kiryat Gat players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Guard Maxim Romanov (203-2000, college: Rockhurst) scored 19 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Akaemji Williams (175-1996, college: LSSU) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Guard Ron Cohen (191-2002) responded with 17 points and 6 assists and forward Oz Lavy (197-2003) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Five M.Kiryat Gat and four Ashkelon players scored in double figures. Ashkelon's coach Dror Cohen tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. M.Kiryat Gat moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with M.Haifa. Ashkelon at the other side dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost.
