There was an upset when 4th placedHapoel Haifa (19-8) was edged on the road by twelfth ranked M.Petah Tikva (9-18) 72-70 on Tuesday. M.Petah Tikva forced 20 H.Haifa turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Brandon Tabb (193-1995, college: BCU) who scored 34 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Naturalized Polish guard Gal Gilinski (195-1995) chipped in 5 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists. Tabb is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Polish point guard Yehonatan Yam (182-1999) who recorded 16 points and Nigerian-American power forward Derek Ogbeide (205-1997, college: Georgia, agency: SLN) added 7 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. M.Petah Tikva moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with E.Yavne. Loser Hapoel Haifa keeps the fourth position with eight games lost.
