There was a small surprise when eighth rankedOtef Darom (13-15) outplayed on the road 6th ranked Ashkelon (16-13) 95-63 on Friday. Otef Darom dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Ashkelon 's 22. Otef Darom looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Guard Yam Shafrir (187-2004) nailed 15 points and 6 assists for the winning side and Cohen Cohen (-2005) accounted for 18 points. Naturalized Polish center Ido Flaisher (208-1998, college: Hawaii) came up with 6 points and 17 rebounds and guard Omer Poleg (185-1999) added 17 points respectively for Ashkelon in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Otef Darom maintains eighth place with 13-15 record.
