Everything went according to plan when third rankedHapoel Jerusalem (16-7) beat at home 7th ranked M.Rishon (10-13) 87-74 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was the former international Nimrod Levi (208-1995) who scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Justin Smith (201-1999, college: Arkansas) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Gabe DeVoe (191-1995, college: Clemson) produced 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Amin Stevens (203-1990, college: FAMU) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains third place with 16-7 record having four points less than leader M.Tel-Aviv, which they share with Bnei Hertzeliya. Newly promoted M.Rishon keeps the seventh position with 13 games lost.
