LeaderValdarno delivered the fifteenth victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 10th ranked Salerno (7-10) 84-61 . Valdarno made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Salerno turnovers and outrebounded them 40-26 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Swingman Elisa Policari (188-1997) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and Portuguese center Carolina Cruz (195-2001, college: Manhattan) chipped in 18 points and 10 rebounds. Valdarno's coach Jose Garcia felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Portuguese guard Rita Silvino (165-2000) responded with 22 points and 5 assists and point guard Federica Orchi (176-1997) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Valdarno . They maintain first place with 15-2 record, which they share with Udine. Newly promoted Salerno dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Broni and La Spezia.
