Not a big story in a game when 17th rankedSalerno (9-18) was edged on the road by third ranked Montecatini (19-7) 75-72 on Sunday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It was an exceptional evening for Daniele Toscano (196-1993) who led the winners and scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. Lorenzo Passoni (197-1997) accounted for 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Power forward Ferdinando Matrone (208-1995, agency: SLN) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and naturalized Argentinian guard Luca Chaves (-1994) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Salerno in the defeat. Salerno's coach Daniel Farabello tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Montecatini moved-up to second place. Salerno lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Crema and Cassino.
