There was a small surprise in Sesto San Giovanni where ninth rankedBrescia (6-12) defeated 6th ranked San Giovanni (8-10) 88-83 on Sunday. Brescia made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Marzia Tagliamento (182-1996) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and Ukrainian power forward Tetiana Yurkevichus (187-1995) who added 10 points and 17 rebounds during the contest. Slovakian center Ivana Jakubcova (198-1994, college: USC) responded with 26 points and 6 rebounds and the former international swingman Laura Spreafico (183-1991) scored 14 points, 8 assists and 5 steals. Four San Giovanni players scored in double figures. San Giovanni's coach Cinzia Zanotti rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Brescia moved-up to eighth place. Loser San Giovanni keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. They share it with Faenza.
