Regular Season Round 23: Treviso - Trieste 57-64

There was a small surprise when seventh ranked Trieste (13-10) beat on the road 5th ranked Treviso (16-7) 64-57 on Saturday. Strangely Treviso outrebounded Trieste 52-35 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for power forward Costanza Miccoli (185-1995) who led her team to a victory scoring 14 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Giorgia Sammartini (175-2001) helped adding 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Trieste players scored in double figures. Finnish forward Anniina Aijanen (188-1995, college: Xavier) responded with 7 points and 10 rebounds and center Ashley Egwoh (192-2002) scored 6 points and 10 rebounds. Trieste moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Broni. Loser Treviso dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Matelica. Trieste will meet at home Ancona (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Treviso will play against Bolzano BC (#10) and hope to secure a win.
