Very expected game when 20th rankedSaronno (7-26) was smashed on the road by seventh ranked Mestre (20-13) 91-70 on Sunday. Mestre dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Saronno 's 34. Mestre looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Forward Simone Aromando (200-1997) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) for the winning side and guard Nicola Giordano (188-2003, agency: SLN) accounted for 19 points and 4 assists. Four Mestre players scored in double figures. Power forward Giacomo Maspero (204-1992) came up with 20 points and guard Pietro Nasini (195-2000, agency: Players Group) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Saronno in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Mestre . They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Faenza and Omegna. Saronno lost their tenth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the twentieth position with 26 games lost.
