There was an upset when higher rankedBrindisi (18-17) was defeated on the road by bottom-ranked Piacenza (7-28) 91-82 on Saturday. Piacenza made 18-of-18 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. It was a great evening for American guard Derrick Marks (191-1993, college: Boise St., agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Guard Saverio Bartoli (194-2000) helped adding 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Piacenza players scored in double figures. Point guard Tommaso Laquintana (188-1995, agency: SLN) responded with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and American forward Mark Ogden (206-1994, college: Utah Tech) scored 18 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Piacenza maintains twentieth place with 7-28 record. Loser Brindisi dropped to the twelfth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Avellino.
