There was an upset when higher rankedMonferrato (20-17) was edged on the road by nineteenth ranked Ragusa (9-28) 101-99 on Friday. Ragusa looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Power forward Mirko Gloria (203-1995, agency: Players Group) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Davide Vavoli (198-2001, agency: Players Group) chipped in 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international power forward Niccolo Martinoni (203-1989) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Umberto Stazzonelli (200-2004) added 29 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) respectively for lost side. Five Ragusa and four Monferrato players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Ragusa maintains nineteenth place with 9-28 record. Monferrato at the other side keeps the ninth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Fidenza.
