There was no surprise when 14th rankedSassari (1-6) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Umana Venezia (5-2) 89-76 on Sunday. Venezia looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Jordan Parks (201-1994, college: NCCU, agency: Inception Sports) fired 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Center Chris Horton (202-1994, college: Austin Peay, agency: LHZ Sport Agency) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Umana Venezia players scored in double figures. Forward Rashawn Thomas (203-1994, college: TAMUCC) produced 20 points and guard Carlos Marshall Jr (198-1999, college: Santa Clara) added 14 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Umana Venezia have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Milano. Loser Sassari dropped to the thirteenth position with six games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Venezia will meet Reggio Emilia (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sassari will play against Trento and hope to win that game.
