Twelfth-rankedReggio Emilia (2-5) gave a tough game to second ranked Virtus Bologna (6-1) on Sunday. Virtus Bologna managed to secure only two-point victory 80-78 . However their fans expected much easier game. Virtus made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American point guard Matt Morgan (188-1997, college: Cornell) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points. The former international center Mouhamet Diouf (208-2001) helped adding 11 points and 9 rebounds. Four Virtus Bologna players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Troy Caupain (193-1995, college: Cincinnati, agency: LHZ Sport Agency) responded with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and Colombian center Jaime Echenique (211-1997, college: Wichita St.) scored 27 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Virtus Bologna have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Trapani and Brescia. Reggio Emilia lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with five games lost.
