There was a small surprise when thirteenth rankedOpenjobmetis Varese (2-6) won against at home 11th ranked Cantu (3-5) 91-82 on Sunday. Varese dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Cantu 's 34 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Varese looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian point guard Ike Iroegbu (188-1995, college: WSU) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 6 assists and Finnish forward Olivier Nkamhoua (203-2000, college: Michigan) who added 16 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. American point guard Jacob Gilyard (175-1998, college: Richmond, agency: One Motive Sports) responded with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Polish center Dominik Olejniczak (213-1996, college: FSU) scored 9 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Varese moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Reggio Emilia and Sassari. Newly promoted Cantu dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. They share it with Trento and Napoli.
