Everything went according to plan when first rankedCosta Masnaga (7-1) outscored at home one of their biggest challengers Milano Sanga (7-2) 89-68 on Saturday. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Costa Masnaga outrebounded Milano Sanga 52-35 including a 41-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was German forward Patricia Brossmann (185-1997, college: San Diego) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. Colombian forward Marta Moscarella (185-2007) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Four Costa Masnaga players scored in double figures. Costa Masnaga's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Elena Bestagno (177-1991) produced 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Vittoria Allievi (183-2003, agency: SLN) added 8 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. Costa Masnaga have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-1 record, which they share with Umbertide and Alpo. Loser Milano Sanga dropped to the second place with two games lost.
