There was an upset when higher rankedTrieste (6-6) lost on the road to thirteenth ranked Openjobmetis Varese (4-8) 84-69 on Sunday. Varese forced 22 Trieste turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by Nigerian point guard Ike Iroegbu (188-1995, college: WSU) who scored that evening 17 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and American guard Taze Moore (196-1998, college: Houston) supported him with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Openjobmetis Varese players scored in double figures. Even 15 points by American point guard Colbey Ross (185-1998, college: Pepperdine) did not help to save the game for Trieste . His fellow American import Markel Brown (193-1992, college: OK State) added 12 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Varese moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Sassari and Udine. Loser Trieste keeps the seventh position with six games lost.
