There was no surprise when 14th rankedCantu (3-11) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Tortona (10-4) 85-79 on Sunday. Tortona looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Latvian Arturs Strautins (201-1998) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American-Armenian guard Christian Vital (188-1997, college: UConn) chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Tortona players scored in double figures. American guard Erick Green (190-1991, college: Virginia Tech) responded with 19 points and 7 assists and the former international Giordano Bortolani (193-2000) scored 23 points. Tortona have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Milano and Venezia. Cantu lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourteenth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Reggio Emilia.
