Seventh-rankedLivorno (6-8) made lots of trouble for first ranked Costa Masnaga (12-2). Costa Masnaga managed to secure only one-point victory 66-65 . However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Livorno. Costa Masnaga forced 21 Livorno turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for German forward Patricia Brossmann (185-1997, college: San Diego) who saved her team from a defeat with 8 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Estonian guard Johanna Teder (173-2000, college: Colorado) contributed with 9 points, 10 assists and 5 steals for the winners. The former international guard Allegra Botteghi (182-1995, college: Providence) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and Sofia Marangoni (177-1995) added 16 points and 5 assists in the effort for Livorno. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Costa Masnaga have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 12-2 record, which they share with Milano Sanga and Alpo. Livorno at the other side keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Cagliari CUS and Rovigo.
